SCHOOL CHOIR
Our school choir was formed in November 2011 and since then we have had so much fun and enjoyed such success singing at events outside school.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee
Our choir took part in the Diamond Day celebration for the Queen’s visit to Hereford in July 2012. The choir were invited to join a number of other school choirs and a 100 piece orchestra to perform for the Queen. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, and the children made Mrs Paton and Miss Robinson very proud, as they sung beautifully and behaved fantastically. They also performed “This is our world” on the bandstand stage. It was lovely to have lots of parents join us in this once in a lifetime event.

Herefordshire Performing Arts Festival. 19th March 2013
WE WON!  We were so delighted when our choir came first in the Key Stage 2 School Choir Class, competing against other excellent school choirs including the Hereford Cathedral Junior School and Leominster Junior School. The children performed ‘Coconut Man’ and ‘Electricity’  brilliantly, capturing the mood of the pieces very well indeed. They are a credit to the school.

As winners of our class, we were invited to perform at the Festival Gala Concert at the Courtyard Theatre, Hereford and here we were named ‘Herefordshire Junior Choir of the Year’.

Midsummer Music
The choir sang 6 of our favourite songs at St.James’ Church Cradley Midsummer Music concert on Sunday June 23rd and enjoyed a BBQ and strawberry tea afterwards

Free Radio ‘Christmas Stars’ 2013
The choir are taking part in Free Radio’s ‘Christmas Stars’ competition this year and on Thursday 14th November, they came in to school to record us singing John Rutter’s ‘Colours of Christmas’.

Young Voices
This term we are preparing some wonderful songs/medleys for the ‘Young Voices’ concert in January where we will join hundreds of other primary school choirs in the LG Arena, Birmingham for a spectacular concert. We can’t wait!

COOPERATION

Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labour.  For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion.
